After the success of my iPhone utorrent WebUI, I’ve decided to support my webUI on the iPad.
This UI is still based on the work fromĀ davidraso and Squiggs, but has now come a long way from those releases.
Full list of features
- See the status of active torrents
- Pause, resume a torrent
- Add a new torrent by entering a url to torrent(or mininova id)
- A new “stop” button
- Torrent names into a link that will toggle between showing the files in the torrent and hiding the files.
- The ability to remove torrents (but keep the files) or to delete the torrent (and all files)
- The ability to change the priority of the files for each torrent.
- Added the “remaining bytes” attribute
- Reduced bandwidth usage by using a cacheid
- Added the “ratio” attribute
- A new ‘Show Stats’ popup
- Resume play button for stopped torrents
- Ability to change the upload and download rate for individual torrents
- Torrent stats are sorting into sections for easier viewing
- Panel concept
- Options menu with new status filtering and sorting options
- Global pause/resume feature
- Option to change the refresh rate.
- Global upload/download configuation
- Open tracker links
As I’ve stated before on my iPhone webui, I am not a master programmer and I would never claim to be. I’m just an experienced web developer who has used his skills to improve an already successful WebUI concept. I’m sure someone will one day make a better interface, but for now, enjoy!
This works fully with the lastets uTorrent and WebUI. Once again a big thanks to davidraso, Squiggs for their excellent work, and also a thanks to Philippe Isabelle.
Installation:
You must have the very lastest uTorrent WebUI installed first before you can install my iPad WebUI edition. Instructions can be found here and here . Older versions of the uTorrent WebUI will no longer be supported by me.
Now download the zip found above top right of my site, extract it, inside there is a folder called ‘ipad’ take that folder and place it inside the webui.zip that you installed in at ‘%AppData%\uTorrent’ on your PC. Don’t extract the webui zip just add the ipad folder to it.
Next on your iPad go to the URL of your uTorrent WebUI adding /ipad/(ie http://YOURIP:PORT/gui/ipad/i.html), enter your username / password you should now see all your torrents.
Update v0.02:
- Fixed a bug with the some of the images not loading
- Minor Bug fixes

Looks good. Really like the interface.
Issues (well “things to note”):
On my utorrent I had to restart to get it to work after adding the ipad dir to the webui zip.
Icons at top left and top right don’t seem to be showing.
Takes a long time to load the page (but I’m also messing around with my network right now, so it my be me!)
Cheers
Joe

Ok – figured out the missing icons. you also need to add the ‘iphone’ dir from the zip into the webui zip…

Sorry, one comment after another: Speed issues were either my network or the iphone dir problem.
Looking good bro!
Peace,
Joe

Joe, thanks for your comments. I can see the error with the icons. I will get that fixed in the next few days. You shouldn’t need to have the iphone directory present for it to all work. I think I might have left some absolute links in the code.
I will get it sorted and will release an update tomorrow.

Is the options button meant to do anything yet? On mine doesnt link to anything..
July 24th, 2010 at 10:49 am
Joe, when you load the API for the first time, the options toggle is loaded on the right side by default. If you then clicked on the ‘Add torrent’ toggle in the top left corner, the right side will change. To go back to the options menu you click on the options toggle.
In the next release, I’m going to have the API automatically hide the active toggle so that you either only see the add torrent toggle or the options toggle. I hope this helps

Thanks for the very good web-app for the iPad.
The only problem I have with the iPad version is that the progress bars are not accurate. It is a small thing, and everything else works as good, or better than I expected.

Gents, for some reason my Fijian WebUI does not work on the iPad. I followed the instructions correctly. When I open the page (adding /ipad/) it shows up blank?
When I leave out the /ipad/ the webui shows up as a standard utorrent mask… but we all know that’s not pretty
I use uTorrent WebUI 0.380 and uTorrent 2.0.4.
Please advise.

Thanks for all the work on this app, I’m excited to use it! I’m having some problems with it loading. I have followed all the steps, but when I got to the url (http://myip:myport/gui/ipad/i.html) the screen comes up blank and I don’t have any icons on my home screen. When I pull up the regular webui page (http://myip:myport/gui/) I can get the regular page like I get on my PC.
Not sure what I did wrong, I have ipad software version 4.2.1, in case that matters.
Cheers!

One other thing, in case it matters. When I log on to Webui with my ipad not using the /ipad/ command (http://myip:myport/gui/) I can see the the options on the left and the bar on the top but none of my downloads. could this be the problem? Do I need to do something to my ipad to get this to work?
Cheers!

This is great! Thanks alot Fijian, BIG supporter here! My question is, how exactly do I add Demonoid torrents to my list? I have tried to copy and paste the download link (while be logged in, none the less) and the torrent doesn’t show up. I have been using Demonoind.me – the new domain for Demonoid. I noticed you state something about how the username and password are embedded into the link but that does not seem to be the case. Could you please advise me on what I am doing wrong?? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

I also want to add that I am using this with the newest version of WebUI as of 1/14/11 and also using your iPad version.

March 3rd, 2011 at 4:35 pm
Hi, love the fact u have developed the iPad torrent, I have tried following ur instructions on how to do it but for the average Joe like myself it got really confusing and just not possible. Was so looking forward to using it as well. Maybe step by step of even better a video tutorial for us non computer experts! Great work though.

Sorry Development has finished on this project now.
May 10th, 2011 at 3:19 pm
Thumbs up for the great work. This is by far the best interface for WebUI. I’ve tried alots for them, and none of these have half of the features in Fijianwarroir webui.
Good luck in the future, and you’ll be missed
May 13th, 2011 at 12:45 am
A remarkable app indeed! As a suggestions, can you add one more category as ‘Active Torrents’? I just want to see which torrents are being actually seeded and not just marked as seeding as sitting idle.
Thanks!
Sid
